A species that is the object of hunting.
Distribution.  
The species lives in the dry steppes, semi-deserts and deserts of Kazakhstan. The range of the tolai hare covers the plains and mountainous regions of Transbaikalia, Mongolia, Western China, Central Asia, and Northeast Africa. In Kazakhstan, it is widespread in its southern half from the Caspian Sea in the west to the Zaisan basin in the east, including the Tien Shan mountain ranges - Ugamsky, Karzhantau, Talassky, Kirghiz, Ileysky, Ketmen (Uzynkara), Kungei and Terskei Alatau.
