Population: In the Kazakh part of the Caspian-Aral region, where the cliffs are 8065 km long, it can be assumed that at least 50-60 pairs nest. This estimate may be underestimated, as no special accounting has been carried out. The European population is estimated at 312-512 thousand pairs.
Status:
A species used for other economic purposes (except hunting and fishing).
Distribution.  
In Kazakhstan, it breeds and occurs on the fly almost everywhere, with the exception of treeless territories such as the Volga-Ural interfluve, Mangystau, Ustyurt and most areas of Central Kazakhstan. Broods were observed in the area of Shortanda and near Saryozek. It winters in Atyrau, the Irtysh floodplain, the valleys of the Shu and Ile rivers, and in Almaty (botanical garden).
