Population: The global population of adult golden eagles is estimated at about 87 thousand adults. The number in Kazakhstan is unknown, according to available data, there are hundreds of pairs.
Status.
A rare and endangered species. Category III. A rare bird with dwindling numbers.
Distribution.
It is widespread in Eurasia. It winters in the same place where it nests. In Kazakhstan, it is common in the mountains of the south and east, and also lives on Mangyshlak, on the chinks of Ustyurt, Mugodzhary, in the valley of the Syrdarya River, Kyzylkums, Betpak-Dale, in a number of points of the Kazakh melkosopochnik, Kokchetav uplift and Pavlodar Irtysh region.
