Population: There is no specific information about the number of dwarf eagles in Kazakhstan. The global population is stable and is estimated at 150-195 thousand mature individuals.
Status.
A rare and endangered species. Category III. A rare little-studied bird.
Distribution.
In Kazakhstan, it lives in the mountain forests of the south and south-east of the republic, as well as in tugai in the floodplains of the Syrdarya, Ili, Chilik, Charyn, Karatal rivers. In the 70s, nesting was established in the Karkaraly Mountains, in the 80s and 90s. The twentieth century. appeared on breeding grounds in the southwestern Altai, Zaisan basin, Manrak and Tarbagatai. It winters in India and Africa.
