Number: The number of black kites in Kazakhstan has not been precisely established, but it is estimated that it can range from 5 to 10 thousand individuals. The species is widespread and the number varies by season. A preliminary estimate of the global population of the black kite is 4.1–5.6 million adults, but these data also require further confirmation.
Status.  
A species that is not used for economic purposes, but has ecological, cultural and other value.
Distribution.  
The black kite nests and occurs on the fly almost all over Kazakhstan, excluding steppe and desert areas. On the fly, the black kite is found everywhere, including high-altitude areas such as the Great Almaty Lake.
