Population: There is not enough data to estimate the number of species in Kazakhstan. The last estimate 10 years ago assumed about 50 pairs and 100-150 immature individuals, mainly in the south-east of Kazakhstan. The global population of the species is estimated at 66-334 thousand mature individuals.
Status.
A rare and endangered species. Category IV. A rare, little-studied species.
Distribution.
Tibet, the Himalayas, Pamir-Alai and Tien Shan. In Kazakhstan, it lives in the ridges of the south-east of the republic from the Kyrgyz Alatau in the southwest to the Zhetysu Alatau in the northeast.
