The Wildlife of Kazakhstan has launched as a unique project in Karaganda Zoo, aimed at capturing the beauty and diversity of the country's wildlife.

The Karaganda State Zoological Park is a favorite destination for residents of Karaganda and visitors to the city. This large zoological and educational center is designated as a specially protected natural area of local significance. As one of the oldest zoos in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Karaganda Zoo benefits from favorable climatic conditions that allow for the care of a wide variety of animals, from those common in Kazakhstan to more exotic species.

Photography at the Karaganda Zoo was conducted in full compliance with all norms and regulations to ensure that the animals were not disturbed. Special long-focus cameras were used to capture high-quality images from a distance, which is particularly important when photographing rare or sensitive species that may be negatively affected by human presence.

During the shoot, National Geographic Qazaqstan photographers collaborated with zoo staff, who helped create the necessary conditions for the photo sessions. For instance, staff fed the animals at specific times to allow photographers to capture their natural behaviors. Additionally, the zoo provided opportunities to shoot during off-hours to minimize the impact of visitors.
