Population: In Kazakhstan, the total number of the belladonna crane is 50-60 thousand individuals. About 25 thousand individuals live in Central Kazakhstan, and there are 3.7–3.8 thousand pairs in Kostanay region.
Status.
A rare and endangered species. Category V. A species that restores numbers.
Distribution.
The southern steppes and semi-deserts of Eurasia and North Africa. In the 60-80s of the twentieth century. the area decreased and became fragmented, but by the end of the century, the beauty began to expand its range both to the south and to the north. It winters in Africa, Mesopotamia, and India. In Kazakhstan, it inhabits steppes and semi-deserts, penetrating far into the desert and mountainous areas of the southeast.
