Population: Common species.
Status: Non-endangered game animal
Habitat: It is widespread almost everywhere in Kazakhstan, but avoids dry, arid areas. Itlives in floodplain forests and steppe areas adjacent to the floodplain. Forthe Eurasian Badger, the soil condition is important, which allows it toarrange burrows in dry and non-flooded places. It is quite common inmountainous areas: Tien Shan, Zhetysu Alatau, Tarbagatai, Saur, Altai, andin the foothills and mountains of Kungei.
